VOGUE + Starbucks Competition for "Fashion's Night...
As many of you are probably aware Vogue UK is holding its third consecutive “Fashion’s Night Out” event in London on September 8th 2011.  I was browsing through the UAL website when I came across a competition that had been posted. Starbucks and Fashion’s Night Out were teaming up and looking for someone to create a design for Limited edition packaging of their...

CHANEL: Fall 2010 Couture.
These Images are sketched from Karl Lagerfeld Fall 2010 Couture collection for Chanel. I tried to move away from my natural media choice of watercolour, and decided to use only pencil crayon.  The crayon made the textures from the Tweed and Satin really visible, where as watercolour would not have got the same hard, structured effect.  This collection was absolutely stunning. The jewel...

Prada Shoe Timeline
Here we go again. Another timeline (Im a little obsessed!).  Prada’s shoes make statements every season, so I decided to do a timeline of the ones I could remember.  From the ‘Mad-Men’ inspired Fall 2010 pale blue heels, to the incredibly dangerous Spring 2009 strappy platform sandals (complete with nylon socks which made many models fall on the runway) to the Bamboo and...

Givenchy Fall 2010 Study:
As I have mentioned before, I love Riccardo Ticci and the work he does for Givenchy. He has turned the infamous house into a hybrid of key-peices, and a constant stunning aesthetic, season after season.  Today I got a little bored, so decided to do some quick sketches from Ticci’s Fall 2010 collection for the house.  This season focused on outerwear, intense colour and new materials, with...

In a Plume.
These Two Illustration were based on Valentino’s Spring 2009 Couture Show. The feather embroidery on both dresses and the face masks were loosly based on the Avatar-inspired collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccoioli.  The Two garments feature diagonal feather embroidery, degrading in size and thickness from right to left. The both feature a large plume of feathers on the...

Sarah Burtons First Runway Outing.
Here are 3 illustrations from Sarah Burton’s first runway show as head of Alexander McQueen. Inspired by nature and Pagan society, the collection featured woven fabrics, leather flowers and light fabrics.  I tried to get the movement and fluidity of the gowns and garments.  The Reason the scans are crinkled is because I actually drew these illustrations on tracing paper. Because...

Christian Dior Illustration.
This is just a Quick Illustration of John Galliano for Christian Dior’s Fall 2007 collection. This dress is So beautiful. The colour, the embroidery, the draping, everything about this dress is so beautiful, and very Dior.  The image from the campaign portrays it in such a better light than on the runway.  If I could afford it, I probably would source and track down this dress and buy...

Designer Collaboration Part 1: Erdem.
For my Current Portfolio, I decided to Start and End with a similar theme. I decided to merge My design Ideas with different Designers. I chose a relatively unknown Designer and a Very well known Designer.  The First part of the 2 posts is the Unknown Designer. Editors and Fashion-aholics love him, however Erdem Moraliogiu is still pretty unknown.  I love Erdem’s femenine, elegant style....

Designer Collaboration Part 2: Givenchy
Part 2:  This is the Second Part of my Imaginary Designer Collaboration.  For the well known Designer, I chose Givenchy. For a long time I have admired Riccardo Ticci’s amazing skill and eye, making Givenchy one of my favourite shows every season.  For my collaboration, I chose to take some or Ticci’s DNA from the Givenchy brand and re-work them into my own style. Elements such as: ...

A Quick One with Dolce and Gabbana:
These are some Images I drew the evening before I went to be the Guest speaker at my old College. They are just two basic illustrations from Dolce and Gabbana’s Fall 2007 collection.  The First is a dress worn by Raquel Zimmerman. I love the Tule Base and amazing applique and embroidery. The feather sleeves are pretty great to emphasise too.  The second is a fantastic dress on...

Battersea Power Station:
A long time ago (Circa 2008) I was browsing images of Battersea Power station and came accross this image.  I loved the strong lines, powerful presence and contrast in Black and White that the image portrayed. Battersea Power station is such a beautiful architectural delight and I just became really enthralled by its Ominous structure.  I tried taking parts of the building and turning them...

Playing with Givenchy Couture.
This Is an experimental Illustration of a look from Givenchy by Riccardo Ticci’s Spring 2010 Couture collection. I used just watercolour to depict shapes of the intricate and amazing bead detailing on the jacket and jumpsuit combination, with small areas embellished with Biro.  Here is the Original Image from the collection. A stunning, Fully embroidered Jumpsuit and long-sleeved Bolero...

Tilda Swinton in Christian Dior: 2010 BAFTA's
This is an illustration I drew of Award Winning Actress Tilda Swinton in Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring 2008, Which she wore to the British Academy of Film and Telivision Arts (BAFTA’s) Awards in February 2010.  In Many Pictures, the colour of the dress changes from Dark Green to a Gold Yellow, I obviously Looked at an Image where it appeared Gold as the colour of my garment is a...

Balenciaga: Shoe Timeline.
One day a few months ago, I was ogling over Nicolas Ghesquiere’s designs for Balenciaga. Every season the House wows Editors and Fashion followers with the amazing ideas and garments produced. I had been playing around with Illustrating different areas of the body for a while, so after the Fall 2010 collection of Exquisite shoes, I decided to create My first ‘Shoe Timeline’ for...

(Plus the Monkeys and Banana’s)  I focused on just 2 garments. The first a Simplistic Green jacket and skirt, with Orange Sunglasses and Bright Blue Bag.  The second being a white shift with Green Embroidery and...

Dior Shoe Timeline: Commission One.
This was my first Commission. I recently was invited to be a guest speaker at my High-school and 6th form College about my first year on a Foundation Course at London College of Fashion. I had a great connection with my Art and Textile teacher’s at my school and it was really nice to go back and show them the work I had produced and my progression for when we last met.  After speaking for...
