Balenciaga: Shoe Timeline.
One day a few months ago, I was ogling over Nicolas Ghesquiere’s designs for Balenciaga. Every season the House wows Editors and Fashion followers with the amazing ideas and garments produced. I had been playing around with Illustrating different areas of the body for a while, so after the Fall 2010 collection of Exquisite shoes, I decided to create My first ‘Shoe Timeline’ for the house of Balenciaga. Spanning from Fall 2006 - Fall 2010 there are a total of nine shoes from the most recent Balenciaga RTW shows.
The Illustrations were drawn on One and a Half A3 pieces of paper, which were then Digitally joined. I Then added the Balenciaga Logo and Name, as well as Small boxes, like a Tick-list for budding Balenciaga fans to ‘Tick off the shoes they had one by one’ (in their minds).
I think this set of illustrations is really fun and luckily the designs really suit my style of Drawing. I think my Favourites are the Fall 2008 Black and Silver Pumps beacsue they are so simple and elegant, and also the Fall 2009 Mesh and Drape Silk, The tie around the ankle is so beautiful and the heel arch is spectacular.
